Who’s behind the counter
A family business that happens to own a sole stitcher.
Robert has been doing this for thirty years, first in Silver Lake and now a mile up the road in Atwater Village. His son Arman is on the bench with him. Marc is usually the one who looks at what you’ve brought in and tells you what it needs.
It is a small shop with real machinery in it — a reviewer describes “that giant wheel that shaves down soles” — and shelves of finished work waiting to be collected. People bring in Chanel flats and ten-year-old sneakers and get the same answer either way: here is what it needs, here is what it costs, and here is when it’ll be ready.
The reason the same sentence keeps appearing in the reviews is that nothing gets sent away. What you hand over the counter stays in the building.

The questions we get at the counter.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during opening hours — Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed Sunday. Bring the item and Robert will look at it at the counter.
How much does a repair cost?
Robert quotes when he sees the item, because the price depends on what is actually wrong with it. Call (323) 665-6110 and describe the item and he can usually give you a range over the phone.
How long will it take?
Small repairs — a zip slider, a belt, a glued sole — are often done at the counter while you wait. Resoles and rebuilds take longer, from a few days to a few weeks depending on the job and the queue. Tell us if you have a date and we'll tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
Where do I park?
There is metered parking in front on Glendale Blvd, and free parking around the side on Revere St — a customer's review is where that tip comes from.
Do you only repair shoes?
No. Handbags, luggage, belts, leather jackets and coats, backpacks — the shop's own sign reads 'shoe repair, handbags, luggage, belts, all leather products'. A guitar case handle and a pair of sunglasses are both on the record too.
How far do you serve?
