Sole replacement and resoling
New leather, rubber, Vibram or crepe under a shoe you already know fits.

Resoling is the repair that buys a good shoe another decade. The old sole comes off, the welt and insole get checked and rebuilt where they need it, and a new sole goes on in the material the shoe was built for — leather for a dress shoe, Vibram or a commando lug for a boot, crepe where the original had it.
A half sole covers the forepart where the wear actually is and keeps the original leather at the waist and heel. A full sole is the answer once the damage has reached past the joint, or when the sole has separated from the upper entirely. Robert will tell you which one your shoe needs, and he will tell you when a shoe is past saving rather than take your money for it.

What people said after this exact job.
“Totally revitalized my girlfriend's pretty worn down shoes — fixing up the bottom and the black dye came out great! Also gave some love to my scuffed leather boots and well conditioned them. Know it was a lot of work and it got me what we needed before a trip where we're proudly wearing the shoes. Thank you Robert and his son!”
“Inexpensive quality work! I brought in some 10 year old sneakers that I really didn't want to throw away. Robert's restored the soles and they look brand new. I'll definitely be back with more!”
“Super happy with how they resoled my shoes :)”
“Did a great job fixing the sole on one of my old bowling shoes. The turnaround was fast, and the cost was much lower than I expected.”
“My partner and I have brought our shoes to Robert for repair and to be brought back to life for many years. Replacing heels and soles and other tasks. Once I brought in a very nice pair of dress shoes that I love. I had spilled oil on one of the shoes making the pair not wearable when I needed to dress up. Robert was able to almost completely hide the damage to the stained shoe. I am an attorney and am now able to wear the shoes with a suit when I have to make an appearance in court. Excellent service, fair prices and very nice family!”
“Miracle workers. Brought some of my wife's boots in for heel repair / midsole rebuild, had them done in reasonable time with exceptional results. Writing now about my Redwing Resole… amazing. Turnaround was quick, price for each repair respectively was fair and justified. I got a vibram Resole and just look at em! In 6 months when I need another Resole I'll be back. The amount of heels and other shoes all over the store lets you know everybody wants to get their stuff fixed in here. Great shop, awesome people.”
Sole Replacement & Resoling — questions
How long does a resole take?
It depends on the shoe and on what else is in the shop. Customers describe everything from a same-day fix on a simple sole to about four weeks over a holiday period for a full Vibram rebuild on work boots. Ask when you drop off — if you need a date, say so and Robert will tell you whether he can hit it.
Can you resole Birkenstocks, Doc Martens or Red Wings?
Yes. Reviewers name all three by brand: Birkenstocks, Doc Martens with the original branded hardware kept, and Red Wings with a Vibram resole.
Is it worth resoling a cheap shoe?
Sometimes not, and Robert will say so. One reviewer's favorite thing about the shop is that he shakes his head and says no when a pair is beyond saving.
