Shoe stretching and fit adjustment
Half a size, a bunion, a high instep, or a strap that is one inch too short.
Leather moves if you make it move slowly. On the last, with heat and a spot-stretcher, a shoe can gain width, length, or just a bubble of room over one joint without losing its shape everywhere else.
