Heel repair and heel caps
The tap on the bottom, the block above it, or the whole heel rebuilt from the seat up.

Most heel work is a cap — the small plastic or rubber tap at the very bottom that wears off first and starts clicking on the pavement. That is quick, and it is the repair that saves the leather covering above it from grinding away.
Once the block itself is worn on a slant, or the covering has torn, the job is bigger: the heel is rebuilt in layers, re-covered, and re-shaped to match the other shoe. Robert also builds heels from scratch where a stiletto has snapped, and grinds the finished heel back to the original profile so the pair still looks like a pair.
What the job covers
- Heel caps and taps, rubber or polyurethane
- Rebuilt heel blocks and new lifts
- Re-covering a torn or scuffed heel in matching leather

- Heel height reduced or evened up between a pair
Bring it in if…
- Your heels click on hard floors
- The heel is worn on one side and you are walking at an angle
- The leather covering the heel has peeled or torn
- A heel has come loose or snapped clean off

What people said after this exact job.
“Robert did a tremendous job on my favorite heels. I've had these cognac leather heels for over a decade and unfortunately they were deteriorating due to dry rot. Thankfully, the exterior leather parts were still in good condition, so Robert took the time and care to restore and replace the damaged parts with even better materials and fully reconstruct my heels. I'm very happy with the results and I'm looking forward to wearing them in the future.”
“My partner and I have brought our shoes to Robert for repair and to be brought back to life for many years. Replacing heels and soles and other tasks. Once I brought in a very nice pair of dress shoes that I love. I had spilled oil on one of the shoes making the pair not wearable when I needed to dress up. Robert was able to almost completely hide the damage to the stained shoe. I am an attorney and am now able to wear the shoes with a suit when I have to make an appearance in court. Excellent service, fair prices and very nice family!”
“Miracle workers. Brought some of my wife's boots in for heel repair / midsole rebuild, had them done in reasonable time with exceptional results. Writing now about my Redwing Resole… amazing. Turnaround was quick, price for each repair respectively was fair and justified. I got a vibram Resole and just look at em! In 6 months when I need another Resole I'll be back. The amount of heels and other shoes all over the store lets you know everybody wants to get their stuff fixed in here. Great shop, awesome people.”
“Robert's Shoe Repair did an excellent job fixing my heels. The workmanship is high quality, the turnaround time was quick. Robert and his son Arman was friendly and professional. The repair looks clean and durable, and my shoes feel comfortable again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable and affordable shoe repair.”
“They did a great job. I brought in a pair of boots I got at a thrift shop 10 years ago. The soles had come completely unglued from the upper, the heel was worn down, and some of the stitching was coming undone. He replaced the base of the heel, removed the unglued sole to replace it with a much more sturdy and non-slip option, and restitched the leather. They were ready almost a full week before estimated. They look and feel great! I will likely get 10+ more years of wear out of these now.”
“I brought in two pairs of heels that needed new heel caps and some repair on the soles. I picked them back up the same day. They were clearly handled with care, precision, and the price felt totally fair. Thank you!!!”
Heel Repair & Heel Caps — questions
Can you fix a snapped stiletto?
Usually, yes — the heel is re-set into the seat and reinforced. Bring both shoes so the pair can be matched.
Do you do heel caps while I wait?
Often. One reviewer brought in two pairs of heels for new caps and sole work and picked them up the same day. It depends on how busy the bench is, so call ahead on (323) 665-6110 if you are short on time.
