Sneaker repair and restoration

Sole separation, crumbling midsoles, and a color that has gone flat.

Before: three sandals with soles worn down to the board
Before: three sandals with soles worn down to the board

Sneakers fail by delamination — the outsole peels off the midsole because the adhesive has gone, not because the shoe is worn out. Cleaned back to clean rubber and re-bonded properly, they hold.

The rest is cosmetic and it goes a long way: midsoles cleaned back to white, uppers re-dyed, and new laces. One reviewer brought in sneakers he'd had ten years and didn't want to throw away, and describes the soles coming back looking brand new.

What the job covers

  • Outsole re-bonded where it has separated
  • Midsoles rebuilt or replaced
  • Deep cleaning on canvas, leather and knit
  • Re-dyeing and midsole paint
  • Eyelets, rivets and new laces
  • Toe reinforcement before it wears through

Bring it in if…

  • The sole is flapping at the toe
  • The midsole is yellowing or crumbling
  • The color has gone flat
  • There's a hole starting at the toe box

Totally revitalized my girlfriend's pretty worn down shoes — fixing up the bottom and the black dye came out great! Also gave some love to my scuffed leather boots and well conditioned them. Know it was a lot of work and it got me what we needed before a trip where we're proudly wearing the shoes. Thank you Robert and his son!

Inexpensive quality work! I brought in some 10 year old sneakers that I really didn't want to throw away. Robert's restored the soles and they look brand new. I'll definitely be back with more!

Did a great job fixing the sole on one of my old bowling shoes. The turnaround was fast, and the cost was much lower than I expected.

My partner and I have brought our shoes to Robert for repair and to be brought back to life for many years. Replacing heels and soles and other tasks. Once I brought in a very nice pair of dress shoes that I love. I had spilled oil on one of the shoes making the pair not wearable when I needed to dress up. Robert was able to almost completely hide the damage to the stained shoe. I am an attorney and am now able to wear the shoes with a suit when I have to make an appearance in court. Excellent service, fair prices and very nice family!

Robert is easily the best cobbler I've been to in LA. I dropped off three pairs of shoes with complicated toe shapes to be re-soled. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was incredible. I cannot believe how perfect each shoe was when I picked them up. As a bonus, Robert even glued a pair of rubber clogs that had ripped on the spot for free. They are kind, do quality work, and good turnaround times. Cannot recommend more.
