Designer shoe and bag repair

Red soles, Chanel flats, LV, Gucci, Prada — handed over by people who checked first.

The Tumi bag's zipper and handle repair
The Tumi bag's zipper and handle repair

Designer footwear and bags are a different job, mostly because of what you can't do: you can't re-color a red sole a slightly wrong red, you can't lose a branded zip pull, and you can't leave a stitch line that doesn't match the house's.

The shop's photo wall is largely this work — red-soled heels with protective soles fitted, Chanel ballet flats with new toe caps, a vintage Chanel bag, an LV Speedy given D-rings, a Gucci bag redone, Prada jacket seams. Customers who own this kind of thing say the same sentence in different words: this is the place to trust with your treasured items.

What the job covers

  • Protective soles fitted to red-soled heels
  • Toe caps and heel tips on designer flats and pumps
  • Branded hardware kept and re-fitted
  • House-matched thread and edge paint
  • Vintage and discontinued pieces
  • Authentication-safe repairs that leave the maker's marks intact

Bring it in if…

  • You don't want to send a bag away for months
  • The boutique has quoted a replacement, not a repair
  • The piece is vintage or discontinued
  • You want the soles protected before you wear them

Why this page exists: Reviews from Ana G. (vintage Chanel), Derek C. (LV Speedy), Deran S. (Gucci), Geena A. (LV, Vivienne Westwood), Lauren C. (Nicholas Kirkwood); red-sole and Chanel flat photos in the gallery.

I had an amazing experience with Robert's Shoe Repair! Robert made me a brand-new custom crocodile bag from scratch, and the craftsmanship is incredible. The quality, attention to detail, stitching, and overall finish came out absolutely beautiful. You can tell he takes real pride in his work and knows his craft. If you're looking for someone who can do more than just repairs and actually create high-quality custom pieces, I highly recommend Robert's Shoe Repair.

Love coming here. Very friendly service, convenient location, and great prices, highly recommended! I've been coming here for several years now and continue to come back because it's always a great experience. Their quality is unmatched whether it's everyday shoes, belts, handbags, or more delicate items that require extra attention to detail. They are true master craftsmen, and the work never disappoints.

I have a vintage LV speedy that I was not using because of the handles, I asked the guys if they could add D rings so that I could add a shoulder strap. They were all so friendly, and professional. Not to mention they did an amazing job on the project. I am obsessed with the bag now, and so excited that I have a new expert team to help me maintain my leather goods collection.

Robert's Shoe Repair is absolutely amazing! They brought my Gucci shoes back to life — they honestly look as good as new. The attention to detail, craftsmanship, and friendliness went far beyond what I expected. You're not just walking into a shoe repair shop; you're walking into a family business where they genuinely treat you like family. It's rare to find this level of quality and personal service anymore. They've earned a customer for life.

I wish I could give more than five stars! Robert and his team saved me, my sanity and my feet — I bought a gorgeous pair of Nicholas Kirkwood gold leather slingback sandals for a wedding but the ankle straps were too small and tight to be comfortable. They found a perfect color match and extended the strap with perfectly matching gold leather so I could walk and dance more comfortably. The shoes are impeccably perfect! I wore them 12+ hours comfortably and danced for hours with no worries about the strap thanks to their handiwork.

Robert is the best! If you need any high-end pieces repaired, he's your go-to. He left me absolutely speechless with the repair of my vintage Chanel bag — it looks brand new! This is definitely the place to trust with your treasured items.

Designer Shoe & Bag Repair — questions

Will a repair affect resale or authentication?

Maker's marks, stamps and serials are left alone, and original hardware is re-fitted rather than replaced wherever it can be. Tell Robert at drop-off if resale matters and he'll work to that.

Do you fit protective soles to red-soled heels?

Yes — it's one of the more common jobs on the wall, and it's the one that keeps the original sole underneath intact.
